Video: Stella & Dot Rings NASDAQ Closing Bell - March 23, 2012

This was an incredibly exciting, proud moment for me and other Stella & Dot Stylists. Founder and CEO Jessica Herrin rang the closing bell at NASDAQ alongside some top Stylists & charity partners to celebrate the $500,000 raised to-date for the Stella & Dot Foundation.  Stella & Dot has also revitalized the economy by creating over 12,000 jobs for women across the globe.

The Stella & Dot Foundation believes that every woman has what it takes to create the life she wants for herself. The foundation’s mission is to create positive change in women’s lives through education and economic improvement. Through the sale of the Stella & Dot Foundation bracelets and charms, and through the generosity of your direct donations, all net proceeds will support ACCION USA, buildOn, and Girls Inc.

Does this mission resonate with you? Shop to support the Stella & Dot Foundation or make a direct donation.

Want to work from home and earn extra income with a game-changing company? Join my team as a Stella & Dot Stylist.

Support Autism Speaks! Shop the Shine and Sole Bracelets

Post updated as of 4/1/2012

Stella & Dot has partnered with Autism Speaks, the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, in an effort to raise funds and awareness of autism through the sale of the signature Shine and Sole Bracelets. In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, 20% of proceeds from each of those bracelets, while supplies last, will be donated to Autism Speaks.

As an Independent Stylist for Stella & Dot, my goal is to sell 100 bracelets by April 30, 2012 to support Autism Speaks. Here are two ways you can help me do it:

1. Buy the Shine or Sole Bracelet online: http://bit.ly/SDautismspeaks

and/or

2. Collect orders to receive free jewelry: Sign-up to collect orders for the Shine and Sole Bracelets from your friends, family, co-workers, etc. In exchange for collecting 10 - 20 orders, you will receive $50 - $150 in free Stella & Dot jewelry of your choice (courtesy of the Stella & Dot Hostess Rewards program)! You’ll also get the pleasure of knowing you’ve supported a wonderful cause.

For questions or to sign-up, please email me: style@courtneyparham.com

“We are extremely grateful to Stella & Dot for its efforts to raise awareness and funds for the autism community,” said Pat Kemp, Autism Speaks Executive Vice President of Marketing, Corporate Relations and Development. “We encourage everyone to show their support by purchasing [a bracelet] for themselves or a loved one.”

8 Deadly Toxins Found In Your Cheap Jewelry (Video)

One of my savvy customers heard about this report and she became concerned about the safety of her Stella & Dot jewels. Well, I choose to sell and wear Stella & Dot for good reason— we have a commitment to social responsibility. Our jewelry will not send you or your child to an early grave by exposing you to high levels of toxins like lead, cadmium, and nickel. We use the highest quality, safest materials in our affordable fashion jewelry. Learn about our Social Responsibility Program here.

Article summary:

You know that really cheap jewelry that you can buy at Claire’s, Target and Forever 21? Well, there is no free lunch. You may only have to pay a few dollars for those earrings and necklaces, but that cheap price comes at the cost of you or your children’s health.

The Ecology Center, a Michigan-based non-profit organization that advocates for a safe and healthy environment, recently conducted tests and discovered that despite strict regulations, many pieces of costume jewelry contain high levels of unsafe chemicals.

Three years ago, I clicked on a Kijiji ad that said ‘Celebrity Coveted Jewelry’. I was selling stuff on Kijiji, because I had extended my Maternity leave from my Teaching job, and wanted to spend more time with my dad because of his declining health. I sold my glider rocking chair for $199 and signed up to be a Stylist with Stella & Dot. Little did I know how that $199 would change my life. Since then, I have given up my full-time teaching contract to ‘sell jewelry’ during a time when many of my friends & colleagues had been working for years to get contracts. My team has grown to over 200 Stylists that stretch from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland. Although this journey has not been easy, I can finally say that I am doing what I was born to do. The FREEDOM and HAPPINESS that it has given me is something that I cannot even explain. I am so excited for my future, and I am creating a life that I can’t even fully imagine. I am so very grateful to Jessica [Herrin] for pursuing her dream to create this Opportunity for women like me. I am so glad that I called in sick to work to go to hear Danielle [Redner] speak those words that lit me on fire that day… To Colleen & Janine for their amazing support. And to my amazing team of S&D Stylists who inspire me every single day. I am so GRATEFUL. ♥

I really need a vacation. I don’t think I’ve traveled anywhere outside the Bay Area in about two years, which—although I love the diverse activities here—is pathetic. Fortunately, last year I started working as a Stylist for Stella & Dot, which rewards my hard work with incentives like free jewelry (I’ve earned a ton) and all expense paid trips to exotic locales. Just announced: our Glam Getaway to Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas! Don’t miss the Atlantis video below… it’s like a summer action movie trailer.

To my surprise, earning the Atlantis trip is so doable. Stella & Dot gave me the training and resources I need to create a realistic plan to reach my goal. They even created an “Atlantis Calculator” enabling Stylists to calibrate exactly how much they need to sell and sponsor over the next several months. Wahoo!
In addition to the trip, I’m stoked about earning other exclusive Atlantis prizes created by our SoHo based design team. Check out those rose gold earrings, the cuff, and linen clutch!

I’m not sharing all of these details simply to gloat about how amazing my company is. I wanted to let you know that you can come with me to the sandy beaches on Paradise Island! When you join my team as a Stylist this month you’ll start earning extra income and you’ll have plenty of time to earn the Glam Getaway, too. Please contact me to learn more about the Stylist opportunity… I’d love to chat with you!
