Happy 3rd “Stellaversary” to my friend and pacing partner, Whitney Fields!
Great story via Star Stylist Whitney Fields’ blog:
Happy 3rd Stellaversary to me! After having been a Stylist with Stella & Dot for three years on April 16), it wasn’t until the last year that really I began sharing the opportunity with other women I have connected with through in-home trunk shows and online. I am so proud to say that have started to grow my team of Stylists across the country and am a “Heart of Leadership” Star Stylist! I could not be happier to share my story and spread the word about this ground-floor opportunity (hey - I’m always hiring!).
A few years ago, I fell in love with jewelry I had seen on The Bachelorette (with Jillian Harris) and discovered that it was Stella & Dot through a fashion blog! After learning more about the jewelry, I wanted to see more of it so I hosted a trunk show. I was impressed with how well the jewelry was received by my friends and family, as well as the design and quality of product.
First, I was a Hostess. I loved having my girlfriends come over and hang out to browse and try on jewelry - and just the fun, casual environment and ease of the trunk show had me hooked! I am the first to admit that I never had an interest in direct sales, but after researching more about the company and learning more about founder and CEO Jessica Herrin, I admired her vision for the business. Sharing Jessica’s passion with having my own entrepreneurial desires, I took a leap of faith and became a Stella & Dot Stylist!
One part of Stella & Dot that I love - flexibility! As a Stylist, your work hours are completely set by you - whether you want to work part-time, full-time or just as a hobby. I work my business around my schedule, which includes a full-time job. Additionally, the financial reward from my Stella & Dot business allowed me to have a little guilt-free spending money.
Earn extra spending money or a six-figure income – it’s up to you!
- 25%–30% commission
- Free and discounted fabulous accessories
- Recognition and celebration
- Glam Getaways and Wow life experiences
- Unlimited earnings on team sales
With a background in public relations and marketing, this business also allows me to utilize my professional skills and socially network with other women. Since becoming a Stylist, I’ve had the pleasure of styling many amazing women (including The Bachelor/Bachelor Pad’s Holly Durst, The Bachelorette’s Emily Maynard and The Bachelor’s Robyn Howard!) through online sales and at personal shopping experiences.
The Bachelorette’s Emily Maynard loves her Stella & Dot jewelry!

I have earned enough extra spending money to put toward the purchase of a new car. Additionally, I am definitely motivated by the incentives provided by Stella & Dot and earned both free and exclusive accessories, as well as a trip to the Bahamas in February 2013 - which I was able to share with my mom, who came as my guest!

But more importantly, I love that I am able to help each woman that I style feel even better about herself each time she opens our oh-so-cute packaging to wear her favorite piece! I have also made so many amazing friends within the Stylist community - and my own team! - and through my fabulous customers and Hostesses.
I am truly passionate about my business as a Stella & Dot Stylist, and I would love to share this opportunity with every woman I know - in the US, Canada, UK and now, Germany! If you’re ready for a fun, flexible and rewarding career, let’s chat. I would love to help you create the success that you deserve!

Please watch this. Not only will it inspire you, but it also reveals the importance of early intervention autism programs.
Personally, this video struck a chord with me (no pun intended) because through the sale of Stella & Dot jewelry I’ve been able to fundraise for autism research that benefits children similar to the amazing girl profiled (Stella & Dot Stylists raised $126,000 for Autism Speaks in the month of April alone). Plus, the pop princess singing in this video, Katy Perry wears her Stella & Dot Renegade Bracelet regularly. From A-list celebrities to small children with special needs, I’m fascinated by how this company impacts so many different people for different reasons, and on different levels.

How To Wear Cocktail Rings
A cocktail ring is a great way to accent your hands, the two hardworking tools we use most. Here are three top tips to wear cocktail rings (watch the video above featuring Stella & Dot Director of Merchandising Jess Nelson for details):
1. Keep it simple on the wrist
Choose bracelets that complement your statement ring, but don’t steal the spotlight. A dainty number such as the Stella & Dot gold beaded Love Bracelet or silver beaded Light Bracelet will fit the bill at just $19 each.
2. Choose the style that suits your style mood
Feeling classic? Casual? There’s a ring for everyone. For those in a feminine mood, the Stella & Dot Geneve Lace Ring (pictured below) in silver or gold is a lovely choice.

For something casual or earthy, go with the Labradorite Odyssey Cocktail Ring (pictured below) that’s on sale for 60% off only through Thursday, October 18, 2012 http://bit.ly/Lzj7th

3. Pick an adjustable ring for maximum versatility
Don’t exclude the rest of your fingers from the fun of a big ring! Select a cocktail ring with an adjustable shank to fit all your pretty digits. Most Stella & Dot rings are adjustable and comfortable because we’re all about versatility for busy women on the go.

“Growing up my mom always said, ‘Where there’s life, there’s hope.’”
~Noreen Fraser
As a Stella & Dot Stylist it’s an honor to impact positive change all over the world by creating jobs for women, and raise funds for urgent causes impacting women through the Stella & Dot Foundation. For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, my company teamed up with the Noreen Fraser Foundation to battle women’s cancers via the sale of limited edition baubles and accessories in the month of October. (continued below)
What really compelled me to sit down and write this blog post was watching the heartfelt video above featuring Noreen Fraser (shown wearing the Stella & Dot Pink Scarf with proceeds benefiting her namesake Foundation). She is a breast cancer survivor living with stage V breast cancer and despite her illness, she has devoted her life to advocating for other women via highly successful campaigns such as Stand Up to Cancer. I mean, how many people can say that when they’re going through horrendous physical illness that they’re still dedicating their energy to the health and well-being of others? That is phenomenal.
As Noreen explained in the video, early detection for breast cancer is critical for saving lives. So, ladies, take a moment to watch the video above, then feel your boobies and tell your girlfriends to do the same.
Gentlemen, you should also watch the video, then tell women to feel their boobies.
Finally, everyone can shop the Stella & Dot Breast Cancer Awareness Boutique here.

Today I’m paying homage to one of my favorite items on the planet: Jeans. I absolutely love a good pair of jeans. I live in jeans. They’re so versatile, comfortable, and chic. I pick denim bottoms over flowy dresses and cutesy skirts for nearly every event. Matter of fact, I may even wear my best pair of jeans to my wedding (if I ever get married, that is).
Anyways, one of my favorite occasions to rock a pair of jeans is a night out with friends. Here’s how I style my denim for it:

(Photo by Klassy Goldberg for Refinery29)
My outfit of choice for most events is a basic top, a statement necklace by Stella & Dot (I’m an Independent Stylist for them), dark wash jeans, and heels. Case in point: Fashion’s Night Out SF after party at Jonathan Adler last year. I used a black top and jeans as the backdrop for the stunning Pegasus Necklace (pictured above) to shine. I love how a statement piece can completely transform jeans and a t-shirt! I wear those necklaces so often because they add lots of versatility to my clothing wardrobe. With big necklaces, I tend to keep my earrings and other accessories simple.
I also pair my jeans with a vibrant print, drop earrings, and a clutch as shown below at the Violet Hour Fashion Show. Jeans can carry me into a night of dancing, as was the case at this fashion-show-turned-dance-club. Such a fun event with new and old friends.
So, how do you style your jeans?
I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.
